Low-cost EORs are definitely useful, particularly for teams on a tight budget or for project-based hiring. However, in our experience, responsiveness and service quality are closely related to cost. That might not be an issue when everything is going well. But being able to talk to someone who is knowledgeable about the situation makes a big difference when you're dealing with a challenging termination, a payroll error, or a compliance issue in a foreign jurisdiction.
We would advise to be open-minded if you're comparing providers based mainly on price. Make sure you understand the type of service model you're signing up for, as well as what is included and what is extra. Saving a few hundred dollars a month can occasionally come at a much higher cost in terms of employee trust, risk, or time.
